Everytime I start a blog I fail. Not because I don’t want a blog. Not because I don’t like the work. But because I try too hard. That doesn’t sound like it would be bad, but it is. I try too hard to write about things I’m not entirely comfortable writing about, or about things I can’t post about often enough to make it worth my while, or on topics that don’t entirely hold my interest so my enthusiasm quickly fades. But there is one thing that has always held my interest, and as far as I can tell always will hold my interest, and that is traveling.
So this blog is just me. Unapologetic about my passions and my enthusiasms. Talking about what I love to do so much. While, yes, it will be hard work, to me it’ll be worth it, because this love of mine is natural. This blog will document my travels, and talk about everything in as real of a way as possible.
I love to travel! Everything from the planning, to the packing, to the bustle of the airport, to the hot airplane, to the confusion of finding a cab or your rental car, to dragging a bulging suitcase to tiny hotel rooms, I love it all. I want to see the world, try different foods, talk to new people, and learn new things, things I can read about but can’t understand until I’ve actually experienced them.
A little about myself. I am 27 years old and married to an amazing, brilliant, and supportive husband. We live in a town in Kansas, but I’m originally from Colorado. We both work at an air museum, though I hope in the near future to be a full time travel blogger. Other than traveling my interests include reading, history, cooking, playing the piano, and photography (though I’m not very good!). I grew up traveling. My family went on many trips around the United States, Canada, and even Europe. The love to travel was instilled in me, and it has never gone away. If anything the desire to see the world and experience more has only gotten stronger as I’ve gotten older. I’ve been dreaming about traveling a lot lately, and I’ve decided it’s time to STOP dreaming. It’s time to start living and actually doing it.
So this is it. This is the beginning of the journey. You will see lots of pictures from past trips, and posts about future trips. There will be histories of some of the places I visit, as I love history so much. I will also write a great deal about the foods I eat (and maybe some recipes if I try to recreate some of the dishes!). All-in-all it should be a rather eclectic blog with topics that I hope will interest many different kinds of travelers. I also plan to collaborate with some friends, and fellow travel bloggers as I build this blog up. I hope people will read these posts and be inspired to travel and learn about the world. Please follow me on Instagram @travelwiththeresa as I will post many pictures on there as well!
